I’ll never forget the day I was 13 and 3/4, standing at the window of Rita’s Water Ice in Warrington, PA, waiting for my Gelati. The manager behind the counter was taking my money and enthusiastically asked, “Hey, do you want a job?” I told him I wasn’t 14 yet, so I couldn’t start working. He smiled and said, “As soon as you turn 14, you’ve got a job.” And that’s exactly what happened :)
Scott and Steve Kallen were the incredible owners who helped shape me into the hard worker I am today. Not long after I turned 16, they recognized my dedication and passion and asked me to help manage two of their other nearby locations. Of course I said yes and that’s where I truly learned what it takes to run a business.
To this day, it remains the most rewarding job I’ve ever had <3
What was your first job, and what did it teach you?
